About Me

God created your life. And you're in charge to color it, make it beautiful

Hi, I’m Lydia Phoebe

Founder of Color Your World

Color Your World is about being in charge of our lives, and  being there for our families and those around us, so we can make our lives beautiful.  I started CYW in 2015 as a color art therapy to help me find balance through the highs and lows of life in secondary school, losing my grandpa and my parents’ separation.  I made tie-dye t’shirts, clothing and beddings and blessed my family, friends and the less fortunate kids in my village.  I found my happiness and purpose in their joy.  In just 24 years of existence, I experienced extreme joy, happiness, sadness and  hopelessness when I lost my loved ones to cancer, take care of my elderly grandma and completing my university studies.  Telling my story gives me joy, courage and healing.  I hope my story connects us and inspires you to make your life beautiful.

Our Stories

Stories are a communal currency of humanity[Tahir Shah].

In Papua New Guinea, storytelling is central our cultural and oral tradition.  Through stories, we come to understand ourselves and the world around us.  We learn through the experiences of others.  Through telling our stories, we dismantle barriers, bring healing and inspire hope for youth like us.

Share your story here and color someone’s world.

Agri Life

I am deeply passionate about food security and safety, sustainability and how agriculture in PNG can be improved to increase rural household income.

I blog about anything and everything agriculture – from family farming to rehabilitation of grandpa’s cocoa block, Prency Estate cattle farm, food safety,  and being a voice for the “forgotten solution” for achieving major economic development – making PNG self-reliant on food.

End Rural Child Poverty: Village Libraries for Improved Education

Better educational outcomes for rural kids can break the cycle of rural poverty. In my village, kids are eager to learn but local schools do not have the resources.  I want to build a network of village libraries so kids can have access to books.

I partner with my Mom through Ongeg Organix – a social initiative that creates an avenue for rural women to derive economic value from wild-harvested nuts and seeds to derived oils for organic skincare niche.  We aim to reduce rural child malnutrition and child poverty by generating income for their mothers.

$1 from every jar of oils purchased goes to our village library projects.
